TriTAG 2026 election questionnaire
We're excited to share that TriTAG has published our candidate questionnaire for the 2026 municipal elections! Our questions cover what we see as key current areas of focus for Waterloo Region walking, biking, and transit. We hope that voters find the questions and responses useful for their discussions and decisions in the lead-up to the election on October 26, 2026.
The questionnaire was sent to candidates across all three cities and four townships within Waterloo Region. Two questions were specifically for local council candidates, three questions were specifically for regional council candidates, and two were for both. As local mayors also sit on Regional Council, mayoral candidates received all seven questions.
84 candidates submitted responses so far, and we welcome responses from candidates who have not provided them yet. Any questions or concerns around the questionnaire can be sent to electionsurvey@tritag.ca.
